Job Overview
To carry out industrial painting activities on parts & equipment for the transport industry. Work will be undertaken within a production environment, working to targets and deadlines to meet tight customer schedules.
Key Responsibilities - Painter
Undertake spray, roller and brush painting on Assembled components.
Complete tasks, adhering to manufacturers and company specifications.
Maintain equipment in line with suppliers recommended guidelines.
Adhere to the companies HSE procedures to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
Ensure that your work area is kept clean and free from obstructions and waste, maintaining a good standard of general housekeeping, adhering to 5S standards.
Embrace Lean / Continuous Improvement methodologies, actively seek operational improvements, to meet the customer’s needs.
Actively take part in any training required to enhance your role / job knowledge.
Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner that promotes cooperation with colleagues and other departments.
Adhere to company quality standards and procedures, adopting a “Right first time” approach.
Safely carry out all manual handling / lifting activities in the correct and trained manner.
Work to route cards and SOP’s, recording critical information and signing for activities undertaken.
Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience - Painter.
* Ability to use spray equipment and hand tools etc. - training will be given.
* Background in a Spray shop / industrial painting environment – desirable.
* Good literacy (English), numeracy, and communications skills.
* Basic Computer knowledge.
* Understanding of work instructions / procedures, paper, and digital formats.
* Physical capability to manouvre around components and manual handling of tooling / components.
* Be willing to carry out a broad range of tasks across all areas of manufacturing process.
* Excellent timekeeping, attendance, and safety awareness.
* Take responsibility for their own personal development.
* Basic understanding of lean principles (5S).
* Excellent teamwork ethic.
You must pass a Drugs & Alcohol test before starting.
Contract Umbrella Pay Rates:
Basic rate £16.00 per hour. (Training if required on days)
Shifts: 3 Shifts Monday to Friday: £20.00 per hour.
PAYE Pay rates:
Basic: £14.48 per hour.
3 shifts: £17.35 per hour.
