Job Advertisement: SEN Teaching Assistant Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN (Special Educational Needs) Teaching Assistant to join an Ofsted-rated "Good" secondary school located in Wilmslow. This is a full-time position commencing in January and running through to the end of the academic year, with the potential for a permanent role based on performance. About the Role: As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide essential support to students with special educational needs, ensuring they have equal access to the curriculum and can thrive in the school environment. Working closely with teachers, SEN coordinators, and other support staff, you will play a key role in fostering a positive and inclusive learning experience. Responsibilities: Support students with a range of special educational needs, such as autism, learning difficulties, or sensory impairments. Provide one-to-one or small group assistance to help students achieve their learning objectives. Work alongside teachers to adapt lessons and resources to suit individual needs. Monitor student progress and contribute to Individual Education Plans (IEPs). Foster a supportive and inclusive environment that promotes emotional well-being and confidence. Manage behavior in line with school policies, using a positive and proactive approach. Assist during non-classroom activities, such as break and lunch, to ensure students feel supported throughout the school day. What We’re Looking For: The ideal candidate will: Have experience working with children or young people, particularly those with special educational needs. Demonstrate patience, empathy, and the ability to build strong relationships with students and staff. Be proactive, adaptable, and able to support a diverse range of needs. Possess excellent communication and organizational skills. Have relevant qualifications or experience in a similar role (desirable but not essential).
