We have an exciting opportunity to join our organisation as a Senior Fixed Assets and Leasing Accounting Assistant on our Chippenham site on a 9-month fixed term basis. The Senior Accounting Assistant for Fixed Assets and Leasing will ensure resolution of all queries to fully reconcile the accounts, theyre responsible for ensuring compliance with internal controls including SOX compliance. They are accountable for periodic reporting to the business and will support the Central Accounting Manager with half year and year end reporting and audit requirements. Hours: 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday -hybrid working attending our office on Tuesday and Wednesday's. Salary: £33,000- £35,000 dependent upon experience. Duties and responsibilities: Liaise with Finance Houses to secure funding for leased vehicles as instructed by the Director of Treasury and Director of Fleet. Proactively work with Procurement to achieve complete and accurate accounting of Non-vehicle leases on a timely basis. Resolve queries from Site Accountants and ensure effective communication across all departments. Responsibility for all periodic reporting to the business. Ownership of all relevant Balance Sheet reconciliations; including checking of reconciliations prepared by the Fixed Assets & Lease Accounting Assistant and resolution of all queries to fully reconcile the accounts. Review and approval of associated controls, including SOX compliance. Ensure Standard Operating Procedures are up to date. Support continuous improvement of processes and team progression. Provide support to the Central Accounting Manager to complete Half year and full year statutory reporting requirements. Provide support to manager during the Half year and full year audit processes Other accounting duties and projects as required by the team. How will you contribute? All funding deadlines for vehicle leases met. Checks and controls associated with the FAR and LMD are completed without issue. Timely completion of Balance Sheet reconciliations. Accurate Month End reporting to Day 5 close. Standard Operating procedures and process notes are detailed and up to date. Examples of Process Improvement & Continuous Improvement. Audit process completed in line with audit plan. What will you bring?
