We are looking for a Business Support Officer on behalf of our client to provide business support to the SEND department in line with the Council’s statutory duties under the Children and Families Act (2014) and the SEND Code of Practice (2015).
The duties of the post are as follows and the post holder may be called upon to undertake any of them, as appropriate:
Support SEND caseworkers with admin tasks as part of business as usual and specific SEND Projects
Provide general assistance, clerical, administrative and IT support to the Special Education Needs service.
Be reactive to any business support issues including system administration requests.
Process invoices and process payments
First point of contact for all incoming calls/ queries coming in to SEN Casework team, responsible for dealing with a high number of incoming telephone calls and emails, responding appropriately, or forwarding to relevant recipients.
Process new requests for the Education, Health and Care Needs Assessments, accurately and within timescales, updating IT systems and contacting families and/or education settings for additional information where required. Accountable for processing EHCNA requests accurately and within statutory timescales.
The role requires DBS Checks
Requirements:
Previous experience as Business Support Officer
Knowledge of office procedures and administrative systems, including procurement systems
Experience of using CapitaOne database system and working within a local authority SEN team
Knowledge of generic and specific IT databases and software packages, Excel & Word, Outlook and Powerpoint
Ability to form basic statistics, correspondence and filing systems through high levels of literacy and numeracy.
Experience of working with the public.
