Therapy Assistant

About us: Stagenhoe, a Brainkind specialist neurological care centre in Hertfordshire, cares for individuals aged 18 and over with neurological conditions. We provide tailored neurological care, rehabilitation, and support to enhance health, independence, and emotional well-being. Located 8 miles outside Hitchin in St Paul's Walden, access to personal transport is required as we cannot sponsor this role.
Main Purpose:
To support Therapy staff in delivering high-quality, holistic, person-centred care to help service users reach their full rehabilitation potential.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist the multidisciplinary team in addressing cognitive, social, emotional, physical, and functional needs.
2. Support service users with cancer or other life-limiting illnesses with specialist palliative or neurological needs.
3. Promote and support service users' rights, choices, beliefs, and preferences.
4. Report treatment and condition updates to the Therapist and assist in progressing treatment plans.
5. Assist with equipment fitting, safety demonstrations, and liaise with service users and families.
6. Coordinate with service users and families for form completion, information gathering, and intervention planning.
7. Support administrative tasks such as referrals and activity data recording.
8. Maintain accurate service user records in both paper and electronic formats.
9. Ensure the safe operation of the service, uphold confidentiality, and undertake additional reasonable tasks as needed.
About you:
* Understanding of the health/social care sector.
* Experience working with people in care settings is desirable but not essential.
* Excellent interpersonal skills.
* Teamwork experience.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to adhere to policies and work both under supervision and independently.
* Good organizational and prioritization skills.
* Ability to build effective relationships.
