The Manufacturing Engineer for Cytiva is responsible for resolving daily operational challenges and engaging in strategic initiatives focused on new product development and ongoing improvements in the manufacturing of bioprocessing hardware. By building expertise, you will become a Subject Matter Expert (SME), responsible for modifying, optimizing, and monitoring manufacturing processes to lower defect rates and boost productivity.
This position is part of the Hardware Manufacturing Engineering team located in Shrewsbury, MA and will be on-site. At Cytiva, our vision is to advance future therapeutics from discovery to delivery.
What you will do:
1. Process Enhancement: Demonstrates a solid understanding of existing processes to support in the development and improvements to the manufacturing process with a focus on upstream bioprocessing hardware products.
2. Technical Expertise: Serves as the primary point of technical escalation, proficient in troubleshooting, developing manufacturing tooling/fixtures, and resolving operational issues.
3. Productivity Improvements: Monitors and enhances productivity using DBS fundamental tools, ensuring timely and cost-effective fulfillment to meet customer commitments, while also focusing on manufacturability and safety considerations.
4. Product Quality: Drive continuous improvements in product quality by identifying manufacturing issues, devising cost-effective solutions, and overseeing their successful implementation in production.
5. Quality and Regulatory Compliance: Supports the alignment of manufacturing processes with company objectives, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements, ensuring adherence to both external and internal quality standards and protocols.
Who you are:
1. A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing, or Computer Systems Engineering (or a related technical field), or an Associate's degree with multiple years of experience in engineering, or production/troubleshooting of bioprocessing equipment.
2. Demonstrated capability to solve problems, using troubleshooting, analytical, and planning skills.
3. Working knowledge of lean manufacturing principles using quality improvement techniques.
4. Demonstrated communication skills (written and verbal) with all levels of the organization.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
1. Experience with Computer-Aided Design (CAD), Embedded Systems, Coding/Macros, and Mechanical Design is preferred.
2. Experience working in the Bio-Science, Medical Device, or Pharma industries is preferred.
The base salary range for this role is $70k—$85k. This is the range that we, in good faith, believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and this range may be modified in the future. This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
