An exciting position has become available for a Quality and Environmental Engineer working as part of our SHEQ team. As Q&E Engineer your primary responsibilities will be maintenance of the Environmental processes ensuring adherence to NRW permit conditions and all applicable legislations, management of the Integrated Business Management System (BMS) and associated internal audit programme, to ensure each department meets or exceeds the standards required of our BMS. Measurement and tracking of Key Process Indicators (KPI) for both environmental and quality processes. This role will be Monday to Friday, though some flexibility may be needed on occasion.How You Will Make an Impact
* Manage site Environmental performance by ensuring adherence to NRW permit conditions
* Manage site ISO accreditations by administering the Integrated Management System.
* Support efforts to obtain HACCP and associated certifications relating to food and pharmaceutical raw material production
* Manage internal auditing across the SHEQ function
* Measure and track non- conformances and other key plant metrics. (Quality & Environmental)
* Support the Operations team with statistical process control monitoring.
* Manage site Root Cause Analysis (RCA) programme
* Site Key contact for Quality and product issues
* Lead projects that continuously improve quality and/or environmental performance
* Take responsibility for any other reasonable duties as required by the individual's direct line manager.
Knowledge of total quality management systems and quality tools
* Knowledge of environmental management and permitting
* Knowledge of food/pharmaceutical compliance systems
* Excellent numerical and analytical skills, with strong attention to detail
* Sound understanding, and application, of statistical methodologies and analytical tools and techniques.
* Excellent critical reasoning skills.
* Strong P.C. skills
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
* Bachelor's Degree in a chemical or environmental discipline - Essential
* ISO Lead Auditor training - Desirable
* Experience in Business Management Systems - Essential (ISO9001:2015, ISO14001:2015, ISO45001:2018)
* HACCP level 3 Training - Desirable
* Experience in a multi-task, priority driven environment - Desirable
