Role Overview
Are you an experienced Health and Safety Officer looking for an exciting new job opportunity?
We are currently looking for a Health and Safety Officer to join an expanding scientific company based in the Glasgow area on a part time basis to begin with (3 days a week).
As the Health and Safety Officer you will be responsible for ensuring a safe working environment for all employees and visitors on site across various company sites.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Your duties as the Health and Safety Officer will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:
1. You will be responsible for implementing the Companys Health, Safety and Wellbeing Policies and promote at all levels, ensuring compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation, standards and codes of practice.
2. You will conduct risk assessments, investigate accidents and incidents as well as enforce preventative measures.
3. As the Health and Safety Officer, you will be the main point of contact for H&S internally and be responsible for organising OHS training of employees and executives, including toolbox talks.
4. Develop and maintain strong and positive relationships with key stakeholders working in collaboration and maintain a thorough knowledge of the business and regulatory environment.
Role Requirements
To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Health and Safety Officer (Part time) we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:
1. Both a NEBOSH and IOSH certificate is essential for this position.
2. Proven experience working in a Health and Safety role as well as knowledge of potentially hazardous materials or practices is required.
3. Working experience in a Health and Safety role within a laboratory environment is also a requirement for the role.
