An opportunity has arisen for a pro-active, flexible and motivated individual to join our Paediatric Management team.
This is an exciting but extremely varied and diverse operational coordinator role for someone wishing to gain operational management experience in a paediatric outpatient setting.
Paediatrics sits within the Division of Women & Children and incorporates a number of complex medical specialties which include: Epilepsy, Cardiology, Allergy, Respiratory as well as hosting visiting consultant services which include ENT, Dermatology, General Surgery, Urology, T&O, Hands & Maxfax.
We are looking for a Operational Coordinator with excellent communication skills, organisation skills and enthusiasm to lead and support multiple service areas in Paediatric Outpatients at Derby & Burton
Your role will be to work with the Inpatient Operational Coordinator and support the senior management team in the day-to-day management of both clinical and non-clinical activity. Ideally, you will already be in a similar role or have transferable experience and skills. Experience in managing staff, absence, sickness, negotiating with clinicians re clinics and operational issues is essential to this role as is working with a wide range of clinical specialities.
You will play a key role in the operational support of the Business Unit, working closely with Lead Clinicians, Managers and staff to ensure co-ordination of waiting lists and timely scheduling of theatre and clinic activity in order to meet activity targets. You will be required to ensure the effective delivery of services by providing leadership, support and guidance on operational related issues to both clinical and non-clinical staff. Leading on initial stages of grievance and discipline, appraisals, acting as an appointment panel member, ensuring that appropriate training is delivered to staff, reviewing work performance and progress. You will be required to provide a variety of reports in various Microsoft packages to allow the Service Manager and Deputy General Managers to present information to or at senior Trust management meetings. Completion, analysis and presentation of complicated data in charts and graphs is part of this role, which will help support the transformation of your areas of responsibility and those of the management team.
You will also have an understanding and knowledge of the 18-week RTT process and targets, the Trust Patient Access Policy including the impact this has on service provision, other Business Unit targets, CED, Paeds Wards, medical staffing as these will all be an integral part of this role.
