Role Overview:
We are seeking an enthusiastic Psychology Teacher to join the team in January. The role involves teaching Psychology at KS3 and KS4, with the potential to teach A-Level depending on experience. Whether you are an experienced teacher or an Early Career Teacher (ECT), this is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a vibrant learning community.
Responsibilities:
1. Plan and deliver engaging Psychology lessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, ensuring curriculum alignment.
2. Develop dynamic lesson plans catering to diverse student needs, using various teaching methods and resources.
3. Assess student progress through formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback.
4. Foster understanding of key psychological concepts, including developmental, biological, social, and abnormal psychology.
5. Encourage critical thinking and evaluation of psychological theories, studies, and data.
6. Incorporate current events and real-world applications into lessons to connect theory with practice.
7. Support students in developing independent research skills via projects, experiments, and data analysis.
8. Collaborate with colleagues within the Humanities department for cross-curricular opportunities.
9. Contribute to co-curricular activities such as psychology clubs and field trips.
10. Maintain accurate records of student progress, behaviour, and attendance.
11. Support student well-being by fostering a positive, inclusive classroom environment.
12. Stay updated with developments in Psychology education, attending training and integrating new strategies and resources.
Requirements:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
* Experience teaching Psychology at secondary level.
* Strong knowledge of Psychology curriculum and assessment practices.
* Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or related discipline (desirable).
* Passion for Psychology and ability to inspire students.
* Excellent communication skills and a supportive teaching approach.
