Brook Street has an exciting opportunity to join the Public Sector in an entry-level HR Assistant role. We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented individual to support the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) on a temporary basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for recent graduates, individuals with recruitment experience, or candidates with transferable administrative skills looking to kickstart a career in HR.
About the Role:
Main Day-to-Day Duties:
Updating internal databases and HR systems with employee information.
Managing and maintaining records with accuracy and confidentiality.
Using CRM systems to track employee and process data.
Assisting with the on-boarding process and general HR administration.
Following established processes and procedures with close attention to detail.
Supporting the wider HR team with ad hoc administrative tasks.
About You:
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Able to follow processes and work methodically.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Comfortable using Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
Willingness to learn and develop within an HR setting.
Previous experience in recruitment or administration is desirable but not essential.

Location: MCA, Spring Place, SO15 1EG, Southampton. The role is fully on-site to begin with, transitioning to hybrid (60% on-site, 40% from home) after training.
Work schedule: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday (09:00-17:00).
Hourly rate: £12.36 p/h.
Contract length: 6-month temporary contract with potential for internal opportunities at MCA.
The successful candidate will be subject to a 3-year activity check and a basic DBS.
