Waking Night Support Worker Bethnal Green Homelessness 3 Months 40 Hours £15.70 LTD / £13.38 PAYE (inc hol) A Housing Association in Bethnal Green is seeking a dedicated Night Support Worker to provide high-quality waking-night support to homeless men with substance misuse issues within a psychologically informed environment. THE ROLE As a Waking Night Support Worker, you will play a vital role in helping residents stabilise their substance use, develop life skills, and move towards independent living. Work as part of a team to create a safe and supportive environment Carry out risk assessments and develop personalised support plans Deliver high-quality support, including substance misuse interventions Support residents with accessing health services, benefits, and training Facilitate group activities, such as resident meetings and workshops Collaborate with external agencies to ensure integrated support Monitor and respond to safeguarding concerns, incidents, and anti-social behaviour THE CANDIDATE We are looking for a candidate with previous experience in a similar Housing Support Worker or Substance Misuse Support role. Experience working with homeless individuals or those with substance misuse issues Strong knowledge of risk assessments and support planning Ability to handle challenging behaviour in a professional manner Understanding of safeguarding, health & safety, and multi-agency working Strong communication and IT skills for accurate record-keeping THE CONTRACT 40 Hours per week – 22:00-08:30 currently, soon changing to 20:30-08:30 – this is on a 4-on, 4-off basis. 3-Month Contract – Temp to Perm opportunity Pay: £15.70 per hour LTD / £13.38 per hour PAYE (inclusive of holiday) PART TIME VACANCY The client is also recruiting for a second, Part Time Waking Night Support Worker – working 2 nights per week.
