Rullion is excited to partner with a leading innovator in advanced system integration who possesses over 50 years project experience across highly regulated sectors. Due to expansion, our client is seeking a Senior Tender Engineer who possesses experience in controls and protection.
This is an exciting new role based on expansion with flexibility to work from home alongside core working hours between 9:30 am - 3:00 pm with flexibility to start and finish around you.
The Role
In the tendering function, day-to-day tasks involve delivering Protection and Control solutions in the Transmission and Distribution Sector. Responsibilities include acting as or supporting the bid lead, completing pre-qualification and proposal documents, crafting solutions for client needs, preparing cost estimates, and managing client inquiries. Knowledge of Substation Protection and Control systems, electrical engineering, PLC/SCADA architectures, and experience in design, implementation, testing, and commissioning is beneficial. The role may require interpreting client requirements, developing solutions, identifying suppliers, and occasional travel to client or supplier sites.

Duties:
* Working with the Business Development Managers to provide technical support, Protection and control system architectures, cost estimates, etc.
* Ensuring compliance with internal bid governance and tendering processes.
* Developing and maintaining strong relationships with technology providers.
* Carrying out surveys on Transmission and Distribution sites as required to identify scope, scale, implementation philosophies, etc. of Protection and control schemes.
* Liaising with 3rd party suppliers, producing subcontract specifications in liaison with procurement, for providers to quote against and reviewing their tender returns for compliance and value.
* Producing detailed Protection and control oriented proposal documents.
Desired Requirements:
* Minimum 5 years’ experience in Protection and Control - Software, Hardware or Electrical engineering with a good understanding of the engineering processes used in the development and execution of successful solutions.
* Experience of Tendering with an understanding of procurement processes and reasonable levels of commercial acumen commensurate with the role.
* Ability to produce technically and commercially comprehensive proposal documents.
* Understanding of the Transmission, Distribution and Energy sector and its associated standards, with a Protection bias.
