Art & Design Technician – Immediate Start
Location: Poole, Dorset
Are you a creative and organised individual with a passion for Art and Design? We are looking for a dedicated Art & Design Technician to join a thriving secondary school, providing essential support to the department to ensure the smooth running of lessons and practical activities.
About the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with teachers and students, supporting the preparation and organisation of materials and equipment for Art and Design lessons. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining a safe and efficient working environment, helping to inspire creativity and innovation among students.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Assist with the daily running of the department, ensuring all lesson materials are prepared in advance.
* Order and prepare teaching materials required for projects and examinations.
* Maintain adequate levels of materials and equipment, monitoring stock levels and placing orders as required.
* Unpack deliveries and ensure storage areas are safe, tidy, and well-organised.
* Maintain accurate records for the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations and risk assessments for equipment and materials.
* Support students and staff with photocopying, arranging displays, photographing work, and preparing materials.
* Provide technical advice and guidance to students where applicable.
* Assist in the organisation and administration of Art Department school trips.
* Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all school-related matters.
* Undertake any other duties as required to support the effective functioning of the department.
