Allerton has a vacancy for a Sister/Charge nurse.
Allerton Ward is a fast-paced acute surgical ward caring for multiple specialties: General surgery, Colorectal, gastrointestinal.
As a Sister/Charge Nurse with Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust, you will be working together as part of a multidisciplinary, professional team to assess care needs, and develop, implement and evaluate programmes of care.
You should be able to demonstrate leadership and resilience skills, coordinate the ward autonomously, and achieve effective patient flow while maintaining patient and staff safety at all times.

Main duties of the job
* Support the band 7 with leadership and management duties and embedding new processes to improve the patient service.
* Be committed to upholding excellent standards of care by learning from clinical governance and evidenced-based practice.
* Be a role model to the whole team, working with empathy and professionalism.
* Act as a skilled member of the multi-disciplinary team, promoting good interdepartmental relationships.
* Liaise and communicate effectively with all members of the MDT team, service users, and relatives to help coordinate patient care.
* Excellent organisation skills to effectively help to plan, deliver, and evaluate care plans.

Allerton ward is a 29-bedded surgical ward with the following specialties: Colorectal surgery, gastrointestinal surgery, and gastroenterology, hepatology.
