INTERNAL APPLICANTS MUST APPLY VIA MYSELF NLC7 - £29,180 - £31,737 (pro rata) As part of our Pollution Control & Public Health team, you will assist in the provision of an animal welfare service to the community of North Lanarkshire Council. Your duties will be wide and varied and will include the administration and enforcement of relevant legislation such as the Dog Fouling (Scotland) Act 2003 and the Control of Dogs (Scotland) Act 2010, issuing of Dog Control Notices and Fixed Penalty Notices as appropriate, uplifting and transporting stray dogs to kennels, and responding to relevant complaints from the public. You will also be involved in promoting and educating the community on animal welfare issues and providing advice and guidance to members of the public. You will have previous experience and training within an animal welfare function, be skilled in the control of dogs, and also have the capacity to instruct and advise others in dog control matters or be willing to complete appropriate training and develop these skills in due course. Equally important, you will possess excellent communication skills, have the ability to stay calm under pressure and deal confidently with issues as they arise. You must hold a current driving licence.
