The Education Business Manager will provide strategic and operational leadership and drive Enhanced Care Services' education business. You will develop our education offering to meet the needs of our customers and our people, with a clear focus on growing our high-quality clinical education delivery.
Main duties of the job
You will work closely with the Chief Operating Officer and the Deputy Medical Director to ensure the quality of the offer and high standards are maintained in all of ECS courses as we grow our education business.
The Education Business Manager will be responsible for effectively managing the education department's financial resources, facilities, and business development. This includes budget planning, financial reporting, human resources, procurement, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. The role supports the Chief Operating Officer in managing the education business functions, allowing senior leaders to focus on educational quality and outcomes.

As believers in developing our team, and those who see patients as part of their work, ECS has now developed an Education Centre to complement its operational activity. With a range of centre accreditations including Qualsafe, Resuscitation Council (UK), NAEMT and The Airway Site Difficult Airway Course EMS, along with a range of internal education courses, education is a rapidly expanding area of the business.
Job responsibilities
1. Oversee the preparation and management of the education budget.
2. Monitor income and expenditure to ensure financial sustainability.
3. Drive revenue-generating opportunities.
4. Identify areas for cost savings and financial efficiencies.
5. Ensure compliance with relevant financial policies and regulations.
6. Manage contracts and customer relationships, maintaining good relationships whilst maximising contract opportunities.
7. Horizon scan for new contract opportunities and lead on tender applications.
8. Manage the recruitment and retention of support staff, liaising with HR teams where appropriate.
9. Coordinate the training and development of our people to ensure operational efficiency.
10. Develop engagement strategies with our education faculty and maximise individual contribution to ECS.
11. Ensure the education centre is safe, well-maintained, and comply with health and safety regulations.
12. Oversee facilities management, including cleaning, security, and maintenance.
13. Contribute to the development and implementation of ECS strategic plan, particularly in relation to business development.
14. Support the Chief Operating Officer in setting and achieving educational goals.
15. Ensure compliance with awarding bodies policies and regulations.
16. Ensure the education department adheres to all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
17. Oversee risk assessments related to education and training, and implement health and safety policies.
Person Specification
Experience
* Excellent customer service skills and ability to deal with enquiries, queries and complaints.
* Experience in managing business budgets, finances, and costs.
* Experience in employee management, including appraisal/PDR and disciplinary process.
* Experience working as part of a senior leadership team.
* Experience in developing people through Continuous Professional Development and coaching.
* Strong commitment to high standards of service delivery and customer care.
* Evidence of developing and leading education and training in a small to medium-sized business.
* Experience in business development and mobilising new opportunities.
Qualifications
* Relevant degree level education or significant experience of working within a role at a similar level.
* Proven track record in leading the delivery and development of an educational offer or evidence of growing and delivering a high-quality training operation.
* Hold a full UK Driving Licence with no more than 3 penalty points.
