The Decontamination Lead will have responsibility for ensuring that the decontamination programme is implanted in relation to the organisation and it takes account of relevant national guidelines. The Decontamination Lead will have overall responsibility for the management and strategic development of decontamination services across the Trust. To lead the development and implementation of the Trusts Decontamination Policy to support infection prevention and control and patient safety. Act as Decontamination Lead Assessor for the Trust, including setting up and undertaking a programme of local decontamination reviews. Act as The User and Surgical Instrument Manager as defined in HTM-01, Part A Management and Provision. Act as responsible person for regulatory compliance as per Medical Device regulations. To ensure delivery of quality and timely decontamination services to all internal and external customers, ensure compliance with statutory legislation and external guidance, and delivery of Trust strategic objectives and national targets. To be accountable for implementation of Decontamination Code of Practice across the Trust.
