We are looking for a friendly, enthusiastic and professional Veterinary Receptionist to join our team at Rhodes Vets, Northampton.
Responsibilities:
1. Greet and check-in clients and their pets in a friendly and professional manner.
2. Answer phone calls and schedule appointments.
3. Assist with client queries and provide information about veterinary services.
4. Maintain accurate records of client information, medical history, and treatments.
5. Process payments and handle financial transactions.
6. Manage incoming and outgoing mail and emails.
7. Carry out requests from management as needed.
8. Maintain stock and order supplies.
9. Prepare and supply veterinary pharmaceuticals to customers under veterinary instruction.
10. Communicate with other veterinary-related businesses.
11. Promote practice services.

Whilst varied and rewarding, this can be a busy and challenging role, and the ability to work well under pressure is essential. The ideal candidate will need to be adaptable, flexible, and eager to learn new processes. You will need to be proactive, ensuring all jobs are performed to a high standard every day. On-the-job training will be given, and ongoing training is encouraged.
More about you:
Previous experience working in a veterinary reception is desirable although not essential. The successful candidate must possess strong customer service skills, be confident in using a computer, and interact with our clients, providing a consistently high level of service and customer care in our busy reception.
The position is mainly based at our Kingsthorpe surgery, but having a full driving licence and your own car is essential, as you will be required to travel to our Far Cotton surgery to carry out all or part of your shift most weeks. There may be some lone working at our Far Cotton surgery.
Your shift pattern:
This is a full-time position, and you will be required to work shifts on a rota basis that will fall between our opening hours of 8 am to 7 pm Monday to Friday. You will also be required to work 1 in 4 Saturday mornings from 8 am until 12.30 pm at our Kingsthorpe surgery.
