This is a brilliant opportunity to work as part of the MEH Alliance on the prestigious Hinkley Point C Nuclear project. The alliance works across the project to integrate and coordinate the delivery of all main Mechanical, Electrical, Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning (MEH), cabling, and associated support services.
The Role
As a Technical Author, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. Being part of the MEH Alliance working on Hinkley Point C is a chance to be involved in a major project with national significance. You will play a crucial role in managing and organizing technical documents, ensuring that all information is accurate and up to date within the construction organization.
Responsibilities:
1. Support various teams by maintaining high standards of technical documentation and ensuring efficient communication across stakeholders.
2. Manage document trackers for Workpack documents such as Method Statements, Risk Assessments, and LAD (List of Applicable Documents).
3. Provide updates to the document control team on submission forecasts.
4. Conduct QA checks to ensure documents meet organizational standards.
5. Collaborate with technical teams to gather and verify information.
6. Identify opportunities for process improvements in document management.
This role is full-time and is based at Hinkley Point C.
Essential Experience of the Technical Author
1. Familiarity with industry-specific terminology and standards.
2. Proficiency in document management software and tools.
3. Experience working on a construction site is desirable.
Qualifications for the Technical Author
Diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in technical writing or documentation management are advantageous.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this role.
