Job Introduction BBC Media Operations is at the heart of delivering incredible content across all our platforms for all audiences. Comprising around nine hundred people, it manages the craft and production operations for the BBC's news, radio, and some sport services across London, Salford, Birmingham with teams across the main UK sites. Our team captures, edits, and produces output 24/7 for TV, radio, and digital platforms. We are experts in our field, with exceptional technical, operational, and production creativity at our core. Working closely with our editorial colleagues, we co-create content that reaches millions of people across the UK and the world daily. The team also manages production services, editing and post-production, stores, some OB bases in England, and the BBC's fleet of pool and broadcast vehicles. As the Editing & Post Production, Operations Executive you will be responsible for the design and delivery of all Media Operations edit strategies across a wide range of content. You will oversee all editing staff and activity in the Visual group, including News, Postproduction, Digital and World Service - delivering long-form programmes and content to platforms such iPlayer, the main BBC bulletins, Social feeds and re-versioning. You will be a leader that will work closely with other groups across the BBC to foster a culture of opportunity and partnership. As a demonstrably proven decision-maker, you will be accountable for financial activities within the Editing group, ensuring that workflows use the most efficient and effective use of our facilities equipment and processes. This role involves close communication and collaboration with a wide range of stakeholders. In partnership with the Head of Production Capability, you will support delivery of the department's D&I initiatives and the upskilling and professional development for all editing staff Main Responsibilities Serve as a highly visible and trusted leader, focusing on effective management and enhancing staff engagement. Oversee the department's operational staff, managing performance, training, and development. Collaborate with production partners to ensure the delivery of high-quality content. Stay abreast of industry developments and new technology.
