We are seeking an organised and collaborative Chef De Partie to join our team at The Park Head Hotel, Bishop Auckland. Your passion for homemade, creative food and exceptional dining experiences will inspire both your kitchen team and our customers. You’ll be responsible for delivering high-quality, creative dishes with a strong focus on food safety and training your colleagues to excel in these areas.
You will work up to 37.5 hours per week on a variable shift pattern, with rotas created by the Head Chef. We offer:

Key Responsibilities
• Manage and maintain high standards within your assigned kitchen section.
• Assist senior chefs in menu delivery according to specifications.
• Perform all necessary cleaning duties as per the cleaning schedule and complete daily and weekly paperwork accurately.
• Work with urgency and meticulous attention to detail.
• Exhibit a strong desire to learn and grow, with a passion for food.
• Maintain full awareness of menu items, recipes, allergens, and presentation standards.
• Provide flexible support across various service needs: breakfast, lunch, snacks, afternoon tea, evening dining, Sunday lunch, and festive/seasonal services.

Supervisory Responsibility
• Support and mentor junior team members, helping them develop their skills and confidence.

Financial Responsibility
• No budgetary control. However, you will contribute to profit generation by ensuring accurate menu costing and responsible handling of food produce to minimize wastage.

• Your work will primarily focus on your assigned kitchen but may involve collaboration within group food projects.

• Commitment to excellent health, safety, and access practices, ensuring compliance with all TAP policies, procedures, and guidelines to protect visitors, staff, volunteers, and contractors.

Person Specification
Essential Criteria:
• At least one year of experience in a similar role.
• Basic knife skills.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to maintain a tidy work environment.
• Understanding of stock management.
• Professional, hardworking, and enthusiastic attitude towards learning.
• Ability to multitask and work under pressure.
• High standards of personal hygiene.
Desirable Criteria:
• Food Safety Level 2 certification.
