JOB TITLE: Senior Quality Engineer (IP&I)
LOCATION: Bristol
HOURS: Full time
WORKING PATTERN: Hybrid, 40% (or two days) in the Bristol office site
About this opportunity
We are looking for an experienced and passionate senior quality engineer to join our team of .net developers as we modernise and transform our applications. As a senior engineer in the team you would prioritise modern engineering practices focusing on building and improving our test automation to deliver value to our colleagues and customers in Insurance Pensions & Investments division.
You'll design and build test automation tooling and tests to give confidence in our software delivery. You will be a key member of a team working to deliver great quality software and excellent engineering practices.
As we modernise our applications your skills will be key in building our CI/CD capability with a real focus on driving quality through automation.
You’ll be working in a modern, collaborative agile environment where a culture of learning and continual improvement is key. You'll be bringing your experience to help our team grow and deliver better software even more effectively!

What you’ll need
* A solid background in commercial experience testing and automating the testing of applications.
* Engineering attitude with a clear desire to promote a test first approach driven by automation.
* An Expert in using engineering tools to build test automation in a corporate environment including building integration tests, UI automation tests and API tests.
* Experienced in BDD and Scenario based testing using Gherkin syntax.
* Experience in different types of non-functional testing - performance, accessibility and security testing.
* Experienced in creating test plans and test reports and using Jira and Xray for test capture and execution.
* Experience in automating tests using C# and .net.
* Passion for improving our engineering approaches with a strong desire to continually improve yourself through learning and the way that the team works through experimentation and patterns.
Experience of the following would be beneficial:
* Experience working with Selenium or Playwright and distributed tests using Selenium Grid or SauceLabs or similar.
* Experience in DevOps principals and tools, especially CI and CD tooling and pipelines - such as Azure DevOps.
* Experience of Burpsuite / Loadrunner / Sonarqube
* Some experience in SQL server or PostgreSQL
* Experience in API testing tools, such as Postman or Nightingale
