INTERNAL AUDITOR
We have a position for an Internal Auditor to join our Technical Team. As an Internal Auditor you will be supporting the Technical Services Manager.
Key Accountabilities:
1. Provides key support to the technical function assisting in the production of safe, legal, authentic, and high-quality products.
2. Update the internal audit risk assessment and develop the audit schedule in line with BRC, QMS and customer requirements.
3. Conduct internal audits in line with the audit schedule.
4. Conduct gap analysis against customer codes of practice and policies when new updates are released or as the review schedule dictates.
5. Update and maintain internal audit templates ensuring they are fit for purpose and capture the necessary audit requirements/evidence.
6. Conduct opening and closing meetings with area owners when conducting audits.
7. Raise non-conformities with relevant area owners, grading non-conformities based on risk and agreeing on suitable time frames for corrective and preventive actions.
8. Maintain written audit reports of all internal audits/gap analysis conducted ensuring they are thorough, accurate and presentable.
9. Capture and record all evidence reviewed and assessed during completion of internal audits.
10. Monitor audit closure progress, following up with and supporting departments/area owners with completion of root cause analysis and actions in agreed timescales.
11. Capture any non-conformances or recommendations on the audit tracker ensuring all required information is detailed.
12. Provide guidance on improvements in compliance and best practice.
13. Verify completion of actions and close non-conformances/recommendations on the tracker.
14. Update the audit schedules once audits/gap analysis are completed and when closed.
15. Use audit data to identify trends, update and distribute the internal audit KPI to the business.
16. Conduct horizon scanning for industry, legislative and customer updates – report back on updates which may impact on the business, its processes and products.
17. Attend customer/industry webinars and events as required to get updates on changes to policies, codes of practice and requirements.
18. Attend internal meetings as required. Update on progress against the audit schedule and corrective/preventative action completion.
19. Provide cover for the technical services team as needed e.g. glass and hard plastic audits, fabrication audits, paperwork audits, sample sending & registering.
20. Support the technical function in the preparation and delivery of external audits and visits.
21. Work with all departments within the business to drive continuous improvement in a collaborative manner.
22. Any other reasonable duties to support the technical team and meet the needs of the business.
Knowledge, Competence, Experience and Personal Attributes:
1. HACCP level 3.
2. Lead auditor qualification.
3. Previous auditing experience working in the food manufacturing industry.
4. Knowledge and experience of BRC GFS standard and UK retailer codes of practice.
5. Detailed knowledge of Good Manufacturing and Good Hygiene Practices.
6. Proactive and a team player.
7. Methodical in approach with keen attention to detail.
8. Strong verbal and written English.
9. Inquisitive and resilient nature, with a drive for continuous improvement.
10. Confident working both independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
11. Organised with the ability to plan and prioritise tasks.
12. Strong administrative skills, proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
13. Flexible and collaborative in nature.
The shift for this position is Monday-Friday 8am-4pm or 9am-5pm.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £35,000.00 per year.
