Are you an architecturally trained professional with a flair for structure, sequencing, and strategy?
Do you want to help shape some of the most exciting cultural, civic, and complex design-led projects in the world?
We’re working with a creative firm that offers a unique opportunity to work alongside its internationally renowned architects, managing the design process on some of the most iconic and ambitious projects across Europe, the Middle East, and beyond.
The role sits within a dedicated design management team… a team that is typically reserved exclusively for the studio’s most notable and high-profile commissions. This means the successful candidate will be almost guaranteed exposure to only the most important and significant projects the studios creative teams are designing and delivering globally.
They are currently expanding their London-based team and are looking for Design Coordinators to support studios delivering jaw-dropping civic, cultural, and complex public projects.
The Projects You Will Be Involved In…
You will be stepping into a project environment that’s anything but ordinary! The architectural studio you’ll be embedded within has just secured a portfolio of major new commissions, including:
* A cutting-edge cultural museum in the Middle East, now moving into RIBA Stage 2
* An innovative, future-facing Expo pavilion
* A highly creative airport terminal in Europe, blending public art and infrastructure
* And a number of landmark civic projects focused on global placemaking
These are not just design projects …. they’re high-stakes, high-impact initiatives, often involving world-class collaborators, tight timelines, and meticulous stakeholder coordination.
A Typical Working-Week in this Role…
As one of the studio’s dedicated Design Coordinators, your week would include…
* Kicking Off the Museum Project (RIBA Stage 2): Sitting down with the Director, Fellow-Design Managers, and project leads to understand the ambitions, constraints, and delivery targets for a world-class museum scheme in the Middle East. You will then begin to sketch out a high-level programme to manage this 3 month design window… initially using hand-drawn frameworks during a workshop before translating them into Excel or MS Project.
* Creating a Design Programme: Collaborating with your Design Manager colleagues to produce a clear, well-structured programme that maps out key milestones, approvals, information release sequencing, and consultant coordination. You will need to explain your reasoning and walk the team through your logic…. clarity and confidence here are key!
* Managing Design Information: Supporting the team by preparing management documents, setting up trackers, and contributing to the organisation of digital project files to ensure that everyone is working from the most up-to-date information.
* Project Admin with Purpose: You will attend design meetings, capture high-level minutes, and create succinct written reports for key internal and external stakeholders … ensuring nothing slips through the cracks as the project gains momentum.
* Being Fully Integrated: You won’t be a bystander here... You’ll be an integral part of a medium to large-scale architecture studio, immersed in their working culture, supporting both creative exploration and structured delivery.
Why This Role is Unique:
* Design Meets Delivery: This isn’t about pushing paper … you’ll be influencing how flagship international projects are delivered from the inside out.
* Learning by Doing: You will gain real-world experience in design management, programme sequencing, and strategic input, all while learning directly from senior design managers and studio directors.
* Grow in All Directions: Whether you’re looking to become a Design Manager, Client Advisor, or even pivot into project strategy, this role gives you the grounding to carve your own path.
You’re a Great Fit If You…
* Have a background in architecture (essential)
* Are comfortable structuring programmes, timelines, and deliverables
* Love working with both creative teams and structured systems
* Can use MS Excel (MS Project experience is a bonus)
* Have great written and verbal communication skills
* Are detail-focused and enjoy keeping teams aligned
If you’re ready to embed yourself into globally recognised projects, work alongside top-tier architectural thinkers + innovators, and grow your career in an environment that values clarity, coordination, and creative problem solving…. We would love to hear from you!
