Expected Shortlisting Date 25/04/2025 Planned Interview Date 02/05/2025 Main duties of the job The Acute and Obstetric Theatre Team is a dedicated emergency service which provides expertise in a number of specialities, including; Renal Transplantation, Hepato-Biliary Pancreatic Surgery, Thoracic Surgery, Colorectal, Laparoscopic General Surgery, Urology, Gynaecology and Obstetrics. The team also provides an Acute Venous Access Lines Service for numerous inpatients requiring treatment in outlying areas within the Trust. The role includes coordinating daily activities whilst ensuring effective communication is maintained at all times, and providing support to qualified/unqualified staff and students within the department. This will be on a teaching, assessing and mentoring capacity and a recognised mentoring qualification is essential, or a commitment to completing this course within a year of being in post would be a requirement. Also involvement with the assessment of patient care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of programs of care is a key part of the role. The service is 24 hours and covers days, nights, weekends and Bank Holidays. The role requires multi-disciplinary team working, as well as a possible requirement of supporting other teams within the theatre suite, i.e. Liver Transplantation. A full induction package will be provided as well as the support of the Team leader who will assist the successful candidate during their introductory period.
