CONTRACT TYPE: Fixed Term until (31/08/26), but possibility of a Permanent position. SALARY: £41,453.92 per annum. CLOSING DATE: 15 th January 2025 A vacancy has arisen for an Electrical Control and Instrumentation (EC&I) Technician to join our team at West Burton Energy CCGT Power Station. The role exists to ensure the safe maintenance, testing, installation and fault finding of EC&I plant within the contracted service delivery. Hargreaves Industrial Services (HIS) provide a varied Operations and Maintenance service to our client at West Burton Energy Power Station. The role briefly encompasses the following duties: - Ensuring Job cards are suitable for the work to be conducted under the Work Order Card and associated Risk Assessment and Method Statement. Liaise daily with the EC&I Supervisor/ Management team. Raising and closing out of all defects. Carry out installation, maintenance and repairs on electrical and control and instrumentation Equipment. Carry out Planned Maintenance as per Operation Manual Schedules. P.A.T. Testing portable appliances. Ability to carry out fault finding of EC&I systems. Operate site vehicles and complete relevant documentation. Operate workshop equipment and tools as required and complete relevant documentation. Carry out Examinations and Inspections of all Electrical /Instrumentation Equipment. Continually look for ways to improve service. Communication with Electrical Supervisor/Management team regarding any incidents. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and experience:- Essential Served Apprenticeship or equivalent and experience working on EC&I installations. Understanding of 18 th edition of Electrical Installations Regulations. Experience of fault diagnostics and repair solutions. COMPEX certificate (if not qualified, training may be provided). Knowledge of Plant (including working within DSEAR zones). CPCS safety passport or equivalent. Site safety induction training. Adhere to Permit to work procedures. Hargreaves safety induction training. Comply and understand all site golden rules, safety instructions and procedures. Undertake all mandatory E-learning as required. Undertake site specific training as required Positive attitude to safety NVQ Level 2 in a relevant discipline. Experience in an industrial engineering environment. Desirable Experience of C&I systems typically found in a conventional CCGT power plant. NVQ Level 3 (C&I). ONC (or equivalent academic qualification) in a C&I relevant discipline. IOSH Managing Safely Certificate. Experience of interrogating PLC logic. Knowledge of fire alarm systems. Electrical testing, fault finding and equipment knowledge. Experience in managing low risk contracts for maintenance activities and management of maintenance contracts.
