Job Description:
The Senior Civil & Structural Engineer is responsible for overseeing all Civil and Structural activities on various projects. This includes the preparation or review of specifications, standards, procedures, reports, sub-contract scope of works, planning, scheduling, progress reporting, supervision, geotechnical and site survey works, site preparation, and design of steel and concrete structures, underground services, and foundations. The position requires expertise in both disciplines as well as a comprehensive understanding of project scopes in all phases.
Job Scope:
1. Prepare and check engineering procedures and standards.
2. Proficient in preparing and checking design deliverables including basis of design, specifications, calculations, reports, requisitions, input for Class 3 and 2 estimates, technical bid evaluations, and detailed engineering drawings.
3. Check and review vendor proposals, documentation, and drawings.
4. Participate in project, client, and vendor meetings.
5. Provide input to Construction Sub-contract and evaluate bids.
6. Be prepared to travel in the UK and overseas for meetings, and site technical support to meet project requirements.
7. Providing technical guidance and support to junior engineers and other team members
8. Participating in the development of proposals and bids for new projects
9. Liaising with clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure that project requirements are met.
10. Conducting site visits and inspections to ensure that construction work is being carried out in accordance with the design and specifications.
11. Managing project budgets and schedules and ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget.
Typical background and experience required:
12. Typically, has a HNC or degree in civil or structural engineering.
13. Experience in a design engineering and plant design work environment.
14. Civil & Structural engineering and design leadership experience in both small and large FEED and EPC projects.
15. Experience in leading multi-office projects.
16. Experienced engineer in all aspects of Civil & Structural Engineering in the Petrochemical and/or Refinery industry.
17. Strong hands-on experience in all aspects of civil and structural design works to UK, American, and European codes, and familiarity with developing specifications and standards, progress reporting, and supervising Civil/Structural teams.
18. Understanding and technical participation in constructability reviews and design reviews (Layout fix, 30%, 60%, & 90%).
19. Experienced in the production of 3D models with Tekla.
20. Experienced in performing material take-off either from the model or from general arrangements.
21. UK Project Experience
22. Proficient in the use of engineering package such as Staad pro, Tekla Building Designer, AutoCad, Revit, etc.
23. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
24. Ability to work independently within multi-discipline team including clients, subcontractors, and colleagues.
25. Ability to travel to project sites as required.

26. Membership or nearing membership of appropriate engineering institution.
27. Experience in energy transition projects.
28. Experience in offshore projects
29. Site Experience.
