The Vacancy:
Purpose of the role:
Setting and operating CNC 3 axis milling machines to manufacture components from raw material or second op work. You will also be using various other CNC and manual machines to finish pre-machined parts for our internal assembly flow lines to the highest quality and on time.
Duties and responsibilities:
* Setting and operating CNC 3 axis milling machines or various other second op machines to produce small to medium size batches of work in a timely manner.
* Inspecting work to Engineering drawings using various measuring equipment and reporting any quality defects to the machine shop supervisor.
* Daily, weekly and monthly maintenance checks on machines, including maintaining good housekeeping standards, 5S requirements and reporting any issues promptly to supervision.
* Optimising efficiencies through reduced set-up and cycle times, plus tool life monitoring.
* De-burring, cleaning, final inspection and completion of all traceability documentation.
* Carry out such other duties that may be reasonably requested.
Qualifications:
* GCSE, or equivalent, in English and Maths Grade C or above or relevant experience.
Technical Knowledge:
* A knowledge of operating CNC machine tools.
* Experience of CNC Milling.
* Experience of reading and editing Fanuc based programs.
* Competent in reading and understanding engineering drawings and be able to inspect their work using a range of measurement equipment to ensure the product is correct to drawing.
Skills and Competencies:
* Hardworking with the ability to stay focused at all times.
* Very high attention to detail and accuracy.
* Ability to perform repetitive tasks over long periods of time.
* Safety conscious.
* Ability to work as part of a team, as well as independently.
* Willing to learn new skills.
* Ability to work to tight deadlines whilst maintaining quality.
* Applicants must possess the physical capability to engage in manual labour tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods, as outlined in the job requirements.
Experience:
* Knowledge of operating twin spindle machines would be an advantage.
* The ability to work to AS9100 aerospace quality standard.
