An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Apprentice Support Worker (Level 2 Adult Care Worker Apprenticeship) within the Specialised Supported Living Services.
Our apprenticeship scheme is run in partnership with a leading provider, Leeds City College, to ensure you are fully supported through a high-quality training programme. The apprenticeship will provide you with valuable experience and offer a strong foundation for future careers.
Whilst completing your apprenticeship programme you will be a band 2 Apprentice Support Worker. You will be expected to fulfil the full role and responsibilities by the end of the training period, and a development plan will be put in place by your line manager confirming the competencies they expect you to develop during that time. On successful completion of the apprenticeship, you will progress to band 3 as a Support Worker.
This is a Level 2 apprenticeship so you need to be able to work at a Level 1 in English and Maths (equivalent to grade D or grade 3). If you do not have evidence of these qualifications, we will support you to achieve Level 1 Functional Skills.
Main duties of the job
The Specialised Supported Living Service is passionate about supporting adults with learning disabilities, who put the people we support first. We are seeking to recruit great apprentice support workers. Our main priority for this role is to find people with the right values, behaviours, and attitudes – could that be you?
The duties are varied, and no two days are the same. The people we support are individuals and deserve to be treated as such. However, duties may include support with personal care such as bathing and domestic tasks such as cooking and cleaning as well as support with leisure activities. Most importantly we want you to make a difference to people’s lives.
This post requires shift work as we provide support over a 24/7 basis. You must be able to work a variety of shifts including nightshifts, weekends, and public holidays.
