Eden Scott is delighted to be supporting their valued client on the recruitment of an experienced Electrical Engineer for their busy Renewable Energy business.
The business has a very healthy onshore wind, solar and BESS portfolio and they are keenly focused on continued growth across the UK.
In this role, you will be primarily responsible for helping the business to achieve net-zero, helping develop, build and operate renewable energy projects including onshore wind farms, solar parks, battery storage and other flexible energy generation sites.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Supporting the Operations and Grid Director to ensure grid connections are optimised.
2. Assisting the business development team with grid input and assessments.
3. Conducting feasibility studies and technical assessments to determine the viability of projects, including site analysis and grid connection studies.
4. Providing estimates of ongoing charges for future projects.
5. Preparing and submitting G99 and/or transmission applications.
6. Supporting the delivery and progress management on multiple grid connection contracts.
7. Efficiently managing grid payments including securities and liabilities.
8. Reviewing and resolving any technical, legal or commercial queries found in grid offers.
9. Continually looking at ways to improve efficiencies through data analysis and reviews of energy use and losses on operational assets.
10. Drafting requirements for tendering and review tender submissions.
11. Ensuring projects comply with UK regulations, standards, and safety protocols.
You will report directly to the Operations and Grid Director and work with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical engineers, civil engineers, project managers, planners and environmental scientists.
The role is ideal for someone with a degree or equivalent in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, at least 5 years experience in a renewable energy networks company or consultancy and HV / EHV experience.
