Job Description Manufacturing Engineer – TBF – Turbine Systems Full-time Derby What you will be doing An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Manufacturing Engineer to join the team in Derby at our world-class Turbine Blade Facility. We are currently going through an exciting phase of growth as introduce and validate new part types to meet growing industry demand. We have secured investment in new equipment, gaining new capabilities and increasing our flexibility. Responsibilities In this exciting role, you will be: Accountable for your part specific Drive to Zero Defects, yield, and improvement milestone plans. Accountable for the technical package for the manufacture of your part. This will include technical instructions, production routers and method change management. Working with our Design and Specialist teams to ensure robust and achievable definition of product. Creating and managing industrialisation plans in accordance with Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP). Owning and working within capital budgets, delivering forecast spending. Validating product for use in production engines by First Article Inspection Report (FAIR) and Method Verification Approval (MVA). Attaining Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), demonstrating product quality and rate. Collaborating with other TBF engineers and our coating supply chain. Integrate with the Operations teams to provide a production support and with the Process Engineers to ensure part specific issues are understood and dealt with at production cell level. Using a structured approach to solve problems, finding root cause and implementing and sustaining robust fixes. Why Rolls-Royce? Experience of machining manufacturing processes (Grinding, Electrical Discharge Machining, Welding, and Inspection) is desirable. Strong analytical skills and a proven record of technical problem-solving along with knowledge of six sigma / lean techniques. Excellent organisational, communication and presentation skills and feel comfortable presenting to varied audiences. You will be a highly motivated enthusiastic candidate with a flexible attitude to work and a keen interest in learning. Good team working skills are essential.
