About the role (External)
Engineering Services is a function within Route Services. We sit as a central team to provide national skills and activities which enable regions and industry partners to deliver railway schemes for our customers.
As a large multi-discipline team which focuses on engineering delivery, we have many roles from pure engineering to project management and we touch every part of the railway from track, power, signalling and structures, to the lifts and escalators which are essential to keep our stations moving.
Being multi-disciplinary means we have great opportunities to work in design, development or even delivery of activities such as our own points operating equipment which move trains from one track to another up to 125mph.
We are recruiting for a specific role within the team, and we need two enthusiastic, motivated and inspiring individuals to join us.
What you can expect from the leadership within Engineering Services
"I am a firm believer in creating the right environment, providing the right tools and instilling trust in our people to deliver the best they can for themselves and for the team. Our people are our shop front, are our brand, are our ambassadors and giving opportunities to excel is paramount to enable us to deliver on our promise to our customers. For me finding solutions to challenging problems is why we exist as a team, this could drive efficiency in what we do day in day out or coming up with bespoke solutions to industry problems. Breaking down the building blocks to enable greater understanding of a problem is the way our inquisitive team works and by then rebuilding using our collective capabilities in an open, caring and trusting environment is how we systematically solve unique challenges for the industry, and our passenger" Leevan Finney, Engineering Services Director.
