We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Senior Child Care Officer to join a well-established special school in Chelmsford. Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage a team of child care officers, ensuring high standards of care and support for all students.
* Develop and implement individual care plans to support students' personal, social, and emotional needs.
* Oversee daily routines and activities, promoting a structured and supportive environment.
* Collaborate with teaching staff, support staff, and external professionals to ensure comprehensive care for students.
* Monitor and assess students' progress, providing regular feedback to staff and families.
* Ensure that all child care practices adhere to safeguarding policies and school guidelines.
* Coordinate and facilitate training and development for child care team members.
* Handle any emergencies or incidents effectively, maintaining a safe and secure environment for students and staff.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Previous experience in a similar role within a school or special education setting is desirable.
* Strong understanding of child safeguarding policies and procedures.
* Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
* Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for supporting children with special educational needs.
* Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including teachers, support staff, and external specialists.
* Relevant qualifications in child care, education, or a related field are preferred but not essential.
