Job Description
Monarch Education is seeking a dedicated and reliable Caretaker for a busy primary school in North Birmingham. This position is full time and includes keyholder responsibilities. The school is seeking a reliable and experienced caretaker to ensure the efficient day-to-day running, maintenance and overall presentation of the school premises.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of site maintenance, health and safety regulations, including those related to manual handling and fire safety as you will be required to carry out weekly statutory checks. Additionally, applicants must have an up-to-date enhanced DBS or be willing to obtain one.
Key Responsibilities
1. Carrying out ongoing repair and general maintenance as required
2. Installing shelving, display boards and assisting with minor fixtures and fittings
3. Supervising on-site contractors
4. Moving and arranging furniture
5. General upkeep of the school grounds
6. Clearing rubbish, leaves, ice, and snow as appropriate
7. Inspecting school playgrounds daily
8. Liaising with the site manager and cleaning staff to ensure the work undertaken meets the standards of the school.
9. Assisting the senior leadership team in the development of the use of school facilities during the normal school day and after school, which can include evenings, weekends, and school holidays.
10. Carrying out other duties, training and/or hours of work as may be reasonably required, which are consistent with the general level of responsibility of this job.
