The role
As a Designer Manager, you will be responsible for producing premium designs to be used for bedding, curtains, and cushions for their Brand and external high street retailers customers.
Creating exciting artwork to internal and external briefs.
Manging 2 members of the design team
Reporting to the Head of Product
Analysing the customer and competitors to spot design and colour gaps within the range.
Identifying seasonal trends and concepts for internal discussion and to be able to develop into final artwork.
Confident in presenting ideas to the commercial and premium customers
Designing to customer specifications and briefs.
Texture mapping product for presentations.
Preparing designs for colouring and printing, ensuring they are in repeat, and colour reduced.
Producing layouts and briefs for suppliers for the instruction of sampling.
Liaising with the customer through the design selection process
Logging and organising of quality samples for development.
Skills and Experience:
5 years + working in a textiles soft furnishings designer role for a premium textiles home furnishings brand
Design Degree in Printed Textiles and ideally with homeware / bedding experience.
Good drawing skills.
Managing a small team
Knowledge of Ned Graphics or AVA, Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
Be able to work as a team and using own initiative.
Experience in soft furnishing textile design for high street retailers .
Ability to organise a busy workload and work to deadlines.
Excellent communication skills.
