Brief Description
About our Team
Our Shared Services team deliver specialist processes that have a direct impact on the performance of Network Rail, our customers and suppliers. These services include payroll, recruitment and onboarding, payables, receivables, financial accounting, reporting, controls and compliance, and helpdesk support.
What will you be doing?
As the Head of Professional Services, you will be responsible for leading the Professional Services department which encompasses procure to pay, order to cash, reporting, energy bureau, employee records in accordance with statutory, regulatory, contractual, customs & excise and group policy and regulations. Reporting into the Head of Shared Services and as part of the Shared Services Leadership team, you will also play a part in developing our Shared Service strategy and culture.
Team co-located in Manchester and Milton Keynes.

This a varied role where no two days will be the same and here are just some of things you will be getting involved in:
* Leading the Professional Services team through significant change driven by the upcoming formation of Great British Railways.
* Leading the professional service teams to expedite all supplier payments and TOC compensation payments out of Network Rail in an efficient and controlled manner.
* Leading a team in their collection of all Property, Infrastructure and Track Access Billing payments due to Network Rail in a timely manner minimising aged debt.
* Leading the delivery of standardised and business ad hoc reporting.
* Demonstrating engaging leadership, embedding a can do culture where individuals are empowered to take personal ownership for professional service delivery.
* Leading the compliance and assurance of professional standards in line with Network Rail governance verifying the relevant standards across each of all professional processes.
* Leading and setting the strategic direction for continuous improvement projects within professional services delivering benefit realisation.
* Setting, review and sustaining service level agreement (SLA) obligations in line with cost, quality and control requirements.
* Leading a review of all departments within professional services, working with procurement stakeholders to identify back-office activity.
* As a member of the leadership team, you will offer direction, whilst defining / designing and delivering local process / system changes to improve the Professional Services operation in Shared Services.
Ideally we would like you to have
* Full qualification of CIMA, ACCA or ACA (chartered).
* Shared Services leadership experience in a fast paced, high-volume environment.
* Experience of managing multi disciplined teams greater than 50 FTE in size.
* Able to demonstrate track record of inspirational leadership, motivating large multi-disciplined teams to achieve stretching goals.
* Evidence delivery continuous improvement programmes / developing a self-sufficient culture.
* Exceptional influencing, networking and stakeholder management skills at senior organisational level in a complex regulatory environment.
* Excellent engagement, analytical and communication skills.
* ORACLE eBusiness Suite experience.
