We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, motivated and confident Service Manager for the low secure and low secure learning disability services in Dartford. The Service Manager will be responsible for the overall management of the wards and the Learning Disability Forensic Outreach Liaison Service (LDFOLS). Working closely with colleagues in all other relevant teams, will ensure excellent clinical, operational and financial outcomes. They work collaboratively with other providers enabling seamless patient pathways and service user engagement.
The Service Manager will use data and analysis to support better outcomes for patients and will actively coordinate initiatives to ensure improvement plans are developed and implemented in the medium secure unit. They will actively pursue the best outcomes for patients and carers and know how other Trust services contribute to the organisation's success.
They will identify opportunities for service improvement and growth seeking support from the General Manager to maximise these. They will also deputise for the general managers in all aspects of the service as required.
Band 8a plus High-Cost Area Allowance and On Call Allowance.
5% of basic salary, subject to a minimum payment of £1,192 per year and a maximum payment of £2,011 per year (the agreed annual amount will be divided into 12 equal amounts and paid monthly)
Main duties of the job
Working closely with the professional heads and the General Manager to provide demonstrable assurance that the quality of the clinical services including patient safety, patient satisfaction, and clinical outcomes meet the required high standards. This will include investigations into serious incidents, complaints and staffing issues, appraisal, supervision and training of staff, and compliance with mandatory reporting.
Service Managers work closely with the Team Managers (direct reports) and other professionals to ensure care pathways are effective with regular reviews to enable strategic and operational plans to be delivered.
The post holder must hold a full, valid, UK driving licence and have access to a car/vehicle to use for business purposes (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010).

Person Specification
Education / Qualifications
* Recognised Professional Qualification Mental Health/ Learning disability Nursing (RNLD/RMN), or any allied health profession.
* First Degree
* Evidence of continuing professional development to Master's level or equivalent.
* MSc. Management course
Experience
* Senior Management Experience in running large multidisciplinary teams
* Experience of managing budgets and resources effectively
* Experience of leading and managing change to deliver organisational goals
* Experience of individual and team Performance Management and Appraisals
* Experience of leading business planning processes and delivering targets within an agreed budget
* Experience of involving service users and carers in the development of services.
