About the Role:
Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a reputable secondary school in Ellesmere Port. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting students with special educational needs, ensuring they have equal access to education and opportunities to achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide tailored support to students with diverse special educational needs, including learning disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and sensory impairments.
2. Assist in the preparation and adaptation of learning materials to meet individual student requirements.
3. Support classroom teachers in implementing effective teaching strategies and managing classroom behaviour.
4. Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting social and emotional development.
5. Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents as necessary.
Qualifications and Experience:
1. Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, preferably within an SEN setting.
2. A relevant qualification in education or childcare is desirable.
3. Strong understanding of various special educational needs and effective support strategies.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the educational development of young people.
