Mechanically biased Field Service Engineering professional required by our globally renowned niche sector precision engineering solutions provider. Extensive UK wide travel with occasional overseas.
Our client has been established for almost years and are globally recognised as market leaders in the development and manufacture of production systems associated with gears, from dedicated software solutions through to special purpose machinery, automated systems and associated precision equipment used by clients throughout the world.
As a result of continued success and an ongoing programme of strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit an experienced and professional Mechanical Field Service Engineer to complement their successful Service Team, based from home and travelling extensively within the U.K. (up to 4 nights per week) in order to attend customer sites and undertake both planned preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown responses, performing Service, troubleshooting, fault find and repair activities on the range of company machines at the customer site. Core duties for this varied and challenging mechanically biased (multi skilled) field service role will include (but not be limited to):
1. Delivery of PPM and reactive maintenance, and the installation and commissioning of company equipment at customer premises.
2. Preparation of visit reports detailing activity whilst onsite at customer facilities
3. Identifying up-selling opportunities to offer customers machine upgrades and enhancements to benefit their production.
It is envisaged that the successful Mechanical Field Service Engineer will be based in a commutable radius of Coventry, and will be Mechanically biased with at least 2 years previous experience of having worked as a mechanical fitter within a CNC machine environment, with a good understanding of electrical engineering and basic PLC software programming knowledge proving distinctly advantageous.
As the role is a field position, it is essential that you hold a full clean UK driving licence and valid UK passport, and it is accepted that the role will entail a 5-day working week with frequent time being away from home covering the UK and occasional international trips as required.
To be considered for this challenging and varied Mechanical Field Service Engineer position with a genuine market leading organisation, you will be Time Served and demonstrate relevant trade qualifications with extensive experience gained with Hydraulic, Pneumatic and commercial mechanical systems and a strong understanding of associated technical documentation and layouts.
You will be proficient in the MS suite of packages (Word, Excel and Outlook) and demonstrate excellent communication skills (both written and verbal as well as Technical) at all levels along with an organised approach to your work and the ability to prioritise effectively and manage multiple projects whilst working under pressure. Able to work to the required safety and performance standards at all times whilst working both autonomously and as part of the team, you will be punctual and reliable, skilled in developing and sustaining valuable customer relationships whilst possessing Cost awareness to ensure value for money to both customers and the business.
