Job summary This is an exciting time to join Secure Care Services at Northgate Park, Morpeth due to developments within the service. We currently have an opportunity for a band 5 Registered Nurses (RNLD, RNMH) specifically on Alwinton Ward, part of our new Medium Secure Sycamore Unit. Alwinton is a 10 bedded ward which supports adult males with a learning disability/autism well as complex needs and behaviours which may be challenging on occasion. In addition they may have an offending history or trauma You will work as part of a wider team comprising of Registered Nursing staff and band 3 nursing assistants. You will be provided with support from the Ward Manager, Specialist Nurse and band 6 Clinical Team Lead nurses. Main duties of the job The team ethos is to enable and support the recovery and well-being of all the males within the ward with a focus on recovery, hope for a fulfilled future with discharge back into the community or to step down services to lower levels of security within our service. The team work in collaboration with the MDT and SOTT. The Multi-Disciplinary Team provide a valuable source of support to the gentlemen, and you will be expected to participate within this process. The ward team of staff utilise a range of interventions including the Walkway to Wellness and PBS to support graded exposure and risk strategies to enable patients to access a range of community activities/facilities and community facilities to enhance their daily living and prepare them for discharge. We are looking for staff to ensure that the gentlemen are supported safely and effectively by staff that are suitably trained and have the values to enable high quality care to be delivered in an extremely rewarding but complex setting.
