We provide IT services to over 180 hotels across the UK and are looking for a 2nd-Line IT Engineer based from our head office in Basingstoke who can perform a mixture of on-site and remote IT. What sets us apart from many of our competitors is we don’t just do IT Support – we also do Wi-Fi, phone systems, CCTV, in-room TV entertainment and casting, PCI-DSS compliance, door access control and lots more. We probably see more and do more in a week than other IT providers do in months.
Department:
Technical Dept
Project Location(s):
Basingstoke, UK
Compensation:
£20,000 - £29,000
Your role would include a mixture of:
1. Project work – installing and implementing IT solutions and services.
2. Support – providing proactive and reactive IT assistance, sometimes remotely working from home and other times at the hotels themselves.
3. Documentation – writing up internal and customer documentation as required.
4. Customer and supplier management – liaising with customers and suppliers, escalating issues as appropriate.
5. Out of hours IT support cover – for critical issues, which you would join on a weekly rota basis.
Experience of using some of the following systems would be desirable but not essential: vSphere ESXi, Office 365, networking/LAN, Mitel, 3CX, Hotel PMS and POS systems.
We have a number of shift patterns to choose from, usually working an 8 hour shift with an hour for lunch and could be either weekdays or a mixture of weekends and overnight too, depending on your preference.
You would work from our Basingstoke office unless needed to visit one of our customers. You must have a valid UK driving license.
If you have previous experience of providing IT support and services to the hospitality sector this would be fantastic. You must have previous experience supporting Windows operating systems, Active Directory and general IT desktop-based support.
We spend thousands of pounds a month on best-of-breed technology and systems to give us the best tools for the job which is why we’ve been so successful in just over 5 years, never losing a hotel client due to bad or poor performance. Obviously full training is provided in any systems you haven’t used previously.
We don’t have the usual ‘us’ and ‘them’ culture as our engineers get involved in every area of IT, so sometimes a 3rd Line engineer is on the Support Desk whilst a 2nd Line engineer is out doing a project or site visit and vice-versa.
You would join the weekly on-call rota providing support for critical issues across our Hotel customers out of hours.
The hospitality industry is all about providing good customer service, and that’s exactly the same for us too, so you would need to share this same positive customer-focused ethos.
If you’ve a passion for IT and enjoy the feeling of pride when you’ve done a good job you’ll find working at Hotality a positive, rewarding and enjoyable experience working alongside other like-minded engineers. In return, we offer a competitive salary between £20,000 – £29,000 depending upon experience.
Benefits include private medical cover, great workplace pension that puts you in control (unlike many other Employers pension schemes), training in many IT systems, services and hardware, two £50 Amazon vouchers a month for the two best employees, team meals, away-days and happy staff.
If this appeals please send a copy of your CV to us.
