We are looking to expand our already successful Building Services Team by recruiting two Building Maintenance Technicians with a carpentry background. The post holder will be working as part of our Building Services Team delivering works to our Housing Stock, one within the voids team, and one within the responsive repairs team.
Typically our trade operatives opt to spread their hours between 7.30 and 4pm Monday to Thursday, allowing a 1pm finish on a Friday.
Power tools are provided, well equipped van stock, we have our own stores, and flexibility to buy materials from suppliers. Our operatives are provided with a company works vehicle, and there is currently an option to take this home with a fixed mileage rate deduction, within limits. Ongoing health and safety training is provided.
For this post you must be qualified to at least NVQ/City & Guilds Level 2 in Carpentry, Maintenance or Construction Skills and have at least 5 years’ experience in a relevant industry. We would also consider those without formal qualifications, but with significant relevant experience and references.
It is essential that the post holder is both confident and self-motivated at all times with excellent customer communication skills. Previous experience of working in Social housing would be an advantage, and experience of mobile working solutions and hand held devices’ is desirable.

The hours of work will be 37 per week with a good degree of flexibility. The successful candidate may also be required to be part of the out of hour’s emergency service.
