We are looking to recruit to Hotel Services Porters across Powys. You will support the local delivery of hotel services portering, driving, cleaning and associated facilities activities, ensuring that they are delivered at the levels agreed and that they meet with full compliance with all appropriate legislation and local policies and procedures. You will need to be self-motivated, have a flexible approach to work, able to work as part of a team and have the ability to work on your own initiative. Previous experience is an advantage, but not essential, as full training will be given.

Main duties of the job
To provide and maintain a flexible, dedicated, comprehensive support service to departments of the Health Board, under the direction of the Support Services Supervisor, enabling both clinical and non-clinical departments to function effectively. Required to undertake a wide range of Portering duties including moving and handling, in line with Portering department and general Health Board policies and procedures. The Porter Assistant is responsible to the Hotel Services Supervisor to undertake a range of porter and housekeeping duties, with the aim to provide logistical support to the Hotel Services and other departments. In addition, to periodically support the wider Hotel Services Team as directed e.g. catering or cleaning tasks.

Job responsibilities
* A high standard of service for patients, staff, and visitors commensurate to the portering role.
* Movement of patients around site as required with dignity and respect.
* Transfer of stock, deliveries, bloods, files, medical equipment, pharmaceuticals, and samples.
* High standard of waste management for our sites.
* Monitoring, movement and checks of medical gas.
* Cleaning of a range of areas and equipment throughout the site.
* Interaction with patients, visitors, and other staffing groups.
* Stocks and supplies replenishment to support the daily operations and smooth running of the site.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Literacy and Numeracy L1 or equivalent.
* Successful completion of agreed minimum training within the first 12 months of employment.
* To have gained a Level 2 NVQ in catering or equivalent or are willing to participate in further training to achieve it.
Experience
* Knowledge of or willingness to be trained in work procedures, practices and equipment for a Porter role and associated tasks.
* To be able to perform independently or as part of a team whilst demonstrating the values and behaviours expected of the organisation.
