About the role The Requirements Manager will be responsible leading on the delivery of the Requirements and Verification & Validation Management on the HS2 OOC Mechanical, Electrical, Public Health, Fire and Communication (MEPHFC) Contract throughout the Technical Lifecycle Stages of the project from design through to construction and handover. The role is based in London at Old Oak Common working on a hybrid basis, 3/4 days a week on site. Job description Duties & responsibilities Responsible for leading and managing the Requirements and V&V activities for MEPHFC. Lead the production of Verification Validation Matrices (VVM’s) to support the technical design assurance process. Briefing and liaising with the wider project team and subcontractors on the requirements management processes, through the Detailed Design, Construction & Installation, Testing & Operation technical lifecycle stages. Assisting other disciplines in their interactions with the DOORS Database(s), and other related requirements management tool supported activities. Support the identification of process improvement in the requirements management approach. Oversight of all aspects of the Requirements and V&V processes for particular programs to ensure products comply to regulations. Accountable for defining the overall MEPHFC Requirements and V&V strategy to be followed on the project across all levels and disciplines within Engineering. Deliver assurance communications such as staff briefings and assurance awareness training. Accountable for technical quality and timeliness of deliverables within scope of responsibility. Analyse and visualise testing data and results to stakeholders and engineering managers. Ensure technical documentation of V&V activities comply to regulatory requirements and meet customer expectations. Author or approve technical documentation, including but not limited to Requirements plans, verification plans, test procedures and reports. Qualifications, Skills, Experience & Attributes Essential (minimum requirement for interview) Chartered Engineer or significant experience of working at equivalent level in a project environment. Experience of MEPHFC Requirements and V&V processes, preferably in rail infrastructure / construction projects or equivalent. Knowledge and experience of the regulatory environment and statutory obligations relating to rail infrastructure / construction projects or equivalent. Capable of developing plans and managing workload / activities and taking sole accountability for task delivery. Capable of working collaboratively and effectively with project delivery teams, management and the project leadership, clients, sub-contractors, regulatory bodies and other major stakeholders. Able to show resilience and tenacity whilst remaining adaptable and flexible when working under the pressure of tight deadlines and project change. Experience in the practice of Requirements allocation and verification & validation processes. High standard of verbal, written communication skills and interpersonal skills, able to effectively communicate technical assurance and system engineering concepts to variety of audiences.
