The Role
We are recruiting for a Digital Marketing Executive on behalf of a well-established UK retailer. This role will focus on managing and optimising digital content strategies, coordinating email marketing campaigns, and enhancing customer engagement across online platforms.
Responsibilities
1. Execute the online content strategy aligned with communication plans, using suitable channels to meet audience needs.
2. Manage all aspects of email campaigns, including planning, segmentation, testing, and performance optimisation.
3. Develop and maintain email marketing test plans, analyse results, and provide insights for continuous improvement.
4. Track and evaluate email performance, offering recommendations based on customer trends and behaviours.
5. Oversee website content to ensure it provides an optimised, user-friendly, and brand-consistent experience.
6. Update the content management system (CMS) regularly for promotions, seasonal events, and ad hoc campaigns.
7. Utilise CRM tools to identify and maximise online marketing opportunities.
8. Manage and optimise mobile and digital display ad campaigns, with a focus on ROI and effective targeting.
9. Lead SEO efforts for relevant content areas, updating regularly through SEO tracking tools.
10. Ensure GDPR compliance across all data handling, including data transfer, hygiene, and opt-out management.
11. Provide regular performance reports, delivering actionable insights to the business.
12. Collaborate with in-house teams to develop engaging and brand-aligned creative content.
13. Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, fostering collaboration.
14. Stay informed on digital trends to maintain competitive advantage and drive innovation.
15. Work with digital team members to ensure consistency and relevance of online content.
16. Support the Digital Marketing Manager to ensure all online channels align with the customer journey.
Candidate Criteria
1. Strong analytical and numerical skills, with a data-driven approach to digital marketing.
2. Excellent time management, planning, and organisational abilities.
3. Knowledge of the retail or convenience sector beneficial.
4. Proficiency in email marketing platforms, product catalogues, and CMS systems.
5. Strong interpersonal skills for building relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
6. Relevant degree or qualification in marketing (e.g., CIM or similar).
7. Background in digital marketing or e-communications within a commercial environment preferred.
8. Experience in developing customer-focused, engaging online content.
9. Skilled in utilising CRM systems for optimising digital marketing campaigns.
10. Familiarity with SEO best practices and compliance with GDPR guidelines.
11. Team player with a collaborative approach and adaptability to new digital platforms.
12. Ability to understand the customer journey and digital channel roles.
13. Experience in delivering concise reports to inform business decisions.
