Job description:
The CAD Engineer will be part of EES Solutions project team. Responsible for delivering a complete programme on behalf of a well-established prestigious automotive manufacturer, who makes exciting vehicles for worldwide distribution.
This engineering role will be responsible for the carline feasibility, packaging, development and release of Body Exterior, Interior, Chassis or even Electrical components.
We are looking for someone who is prepared to fully own their commodities and deliver them into the programme at pace and to a high quality in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities:
1. The 3D CAD Engineer will be responsible for creating design proposals and concepts, and to take decisions regarding engineering changes.
2. 3D CAD Engineer will also ensure progress in packaging, including calling meetings when needed.
3. Verifying design solutions together with the customer manufacturing teams.
4. Ensuring 3D Design and release according to time plan, customer specifications and required methodology.
5. Responsible for release of 2D drawings.
6. Responsible for delivering components to quality and cost targets.
7. Support component engineer with component development.
8. Verify design solutions in prototype, virtual and physical builds.
Key engineering responsibilities:
1. Requirements management
2. System(s) design
3. Designing for production
4. Designing for manufacturing assembly
5. Knowledge of DV/PV testing
Communicating delivery progress to the Project Leader on a regular basis.
Ensuring that the challenging programme timing objectives are met.
Identifying all risks to the programme and put in place mitigation measures.
Responsible for establishing, planning and running meetings to ensure appropriate cross functional representation and input from all relevant areas.
Ensuring that issues are addressed and closed off.
Who We Are Looking For:
1. Proven project engineering capability demonstrated by recent delivery on time & budget.
2. +8 years of experience in this field.
3. Ability to generate CAD data Catia v5/6.
4. Mould flow analysis - plastics injection moulding.
5. Stamping manufacturing processes.
It Would Be an Asset If You Also Have:
1. Parts design and release.
2. Having previously delivered new or modified interior/exterior systems for large OEM production.
3. 3Dx CAD experience.
4. Experience of delivering accessory commodities including interior/exterior/functional.
Skills:
1. CAD Literacy: ability to manipulate and interrogate CAD data and use associated visualisation tools.
2. Demonstrated ability to communicate at all levels.
3. Experience in use of engineering tools FMEA, DFMEA problem resolution etc 8D.
4. Experienced with Microsoft Tool – Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
5. Self-motivated.
Education:
Educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant Mechanical Engineering/Design Engineering.
