There are many aspects to the role of a Nursery Practitioner. They work as part of a team to ensure high standards of physical, emotional, social and intellectual care are maintained within the settings.
As a Nursery Practitioner you will be expected to:
1. Form bonds with all children in your care, and ensure that all their individual needs are met. Be aware of all individual children's specific requirements eg cultural, dietary, parental wishes.
2. Interact with all children, and provide stimulating, age appropriate activities for them whilst in Nursery, whilst keeping them safe from harm.
3. Observe and monitor children's development, and report any concerns which may arise.
4. Care for children's hygiene ie nappy changing, assisting children when toileting if required.
5. Ensure the highest standards of hygiene are met and maintained gloves, aprons, cleanliness of areas whilst being aware of child safety eg cleaning fluids etc.
6. Be a positive role to both children and colleagues, in all areas.
7. Have a good awareness with relation to Safeguarding, and ensure all Nursery policies and procedures are adhered to, reporting any concerns immediately.
