You'll be a member of the finance team, reporting to the Senior Finance Business Partner. You'll provide support across the Finance team in the production of accurate and timely financial information as part of the budget, forecast and periodic internal and external reporting process. This role will provide varied exposure to the core operational activities of TransPennine express as well as its role in partnering with Network Rail to deliver the TransPennine Route upgrade.
In addition you will:
* Support in the production, delivery, and improvement of existing reports for both core passenger services and TransPennine Route upgrade activities.
* Maximise financial and business performance through high quality analysis of financial, management information and performance data.
* Support in the production of overall period end results and reporting both internal and external for both core passenger services and TransPennine Route upgrade activities.
* Support in the review of the financial results with the directors and senior managers on a periodic basis.
* Assist in delivering Budget/Forecast Reporting and assist in the review process.
* Contribute in driving finance systems efficiency through alignment and automation to improve efficiency of the period end close and forecast/budgets.
* Build and maintain relationships with Key Stakeholders.
* Play an active role in contributing to the delivery of Personal and Finance Departments Business Plan & Leadership Objectives.
* Any other ad hoc duties.
About you:
* Preferably working towards a professional accounting qualification or be qualified through experience.
* Must be well organized, an effective communicator, both written and oral, and possess good interpersonal skills.
* Must be IT literate and have strong demonstrable experience in the use of MS Excel.
* Have the ability to work to tight deadlines.
* Must have a sound knowledge of current accounting practices and processes.
* Preferably have experience of SAP, SAP BI.
* Experience of SAP BPC and MS Power BI would be advantageous.
