The Red Lion Hotel is a well-established 61-bedroomed hotel in Basingstoke town center, close to both train and bus stations with ample onsite parking. With multiple function rooms, our venue is perfect for all events.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Greets guests and presents them with the menu. Inform guests about the special items for the day and menu changes if any.
* Hours vary - mixture of mornings, evenings and split shifts, working functions if required will include weekends.
* Suggest food and beverages to the guest and also try to upsell.
* Take food and beverage orders from the guest on the order taking pads; we have a small menu which food and beverage staff will be reheating and serving to guests as per instructions.
* Obtaining revenues, issuing receipts, accepting payments, returning the change.
* Performing basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by supervisor.
* Communicate to the guest and provide assistance with their queries.
* Observes guests and ensures their satisfaction with the food and service.
* Promptly respond to guest with any additional requests.
* Maintaining proper dining experience, delivering items, fulfilling customer needs, offering desserts and drinks, removing courses, replenishing utensils, refilling glasses.
* Adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently.
* Understands and can communicate products and services available at the hotel.
* Help other areas of the restaurant such as answering telephones and completing financial transactions.
* On-line training.
* Over 18's to apply.
* Would prefer bar experience.
Experience:
* Bartending: 1 year (preferred)
* Restaurant: 1 year (preferred)
